Android Nougat may hit Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge handsets Jan. 17, if recent reports are to be believed. The Android Soul blog shared a screencap, which indicates the update should hit European Galaxy S7 Edge, SM-G935F model handsets on that date.

There is no word on when Android Nougat will officially hit Galaxy S7 handsets in other markets; however, global rollouts should commence shortly after the European models.

Reports indicate that Samsung is sending an Android Nougat soak test onto to Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge handsets ahead of the official software update. Soak tests allow select users in the general population to try out new software before it rolls out to all devices.
The build G935FXXU1DPLR includes the software, which will be Samsung’s official Android Nougat update in addition to Google’s security patch software for January. The soak test release is a good sign that the official Android Nougat roll out for the Galaxy S7 is near.
